A Pearl’s Suicide Note!

Some time back I read a   beautiful Tamil poetry .

I thought of sharing the substance of that ….. which is really interesting…..

nathu

Here it goes like this:

A beautiful girl comes to meet her lover . She is beautifully dressed up and also she wears a pearl nose ring which hangs from the tip of nose . It is an antique jewel and in Tamil it is called “Nathu”. She is waiting to meet her  man.

But he is a bit late . This makes the girl to go red with rage.

The lover arrives , but the girl refuses even to smile at him.The man tries his best, to soften his lady love. but in vain.

This man also happens to be a poet. He starts describing the beauty of the girl.

In his ecstasic and romantic mood he exclaims ,” My love! You are a smiling beauty. Why don’t you smile now?

The girl did not budge for this. So the man goes on…..

“Dear, I know why you are not smiling?”

The girl looks at her man in curiosity.

After a little pause , as though to raise the girl’s curiosity , he continues with a smile…

”Because when you smile , my heart misses a beat. You don’t want my heart to jump.Right?”

The lady love, saturated by her lover’s sweet nothings, did not fall for this.

So he says,” You think I am just flattering you. But I happened to read the suicide note.”.’

Now the alarmed girl literally shouts ” Suicide  note…..of whom? “

He pulls out a paper from his pocket and reads. The suicide note goes like this:

Dear All,

Normally when poets describe women’s teeth they compare the teeth with a glowing pearl.

But this lover in his   romantic mood said,” My Lady love,Pearls are shunning away looking at your smile. Your teeth glow more than the pearl.”

The insult which I went through by the above words knew no bounds. Not able to stand this insult, I hang myself to death in front of the teeth, with which Iam compared to..

I hereby hold the poetic lover, his lady love and the glowing teeth to be totally responsible for my hanging.

Hoping to get my due respect atleast in Heaven , I leave this damn world.

See you all in my next birth,

(the unfortunate)Pearl.

Reading out the Pearl’s suicide note, the man lovingly clings the ‘nathu’ of his lady love.

The girl tried her utmost best to hide her blushing. But could not …..

Now…… , do we have any business to stand here?

Let us leave them alone.

Advertisements

You made me fly !

Mothers_day_flowers-6Yesterday I happened to see an ad in between a programme. No…No… Let me put it this way. If I say “I watched a programme inbetween advertisements”, then, that will be more apt.

The ad was about a health drink . Therein a mother was taking her son to school. As she walks, she asks her son to put on his woolen scarf, then the woolen cap and  then after a few seconds, she says ” oh! It is very cold. Wear on your sweaters ” and so on…. The scene also shows another boy walking freely without any extra fittings, indicating not a very cold day. The ad  advises mothers ” May your child face rough weather. Only then, he will get immune to it.” And ofcourse the campaign is for their health drink

Though it is an ad, it high lights a point that children should be exposed to rough weather to know to handle it. Let us ignore the literal meaning of the sentence and rather go deep into it.

As mothers we care for our children and protect them.Good. We should do.Because we love them to the moon and back.

There are also mothers,  who are  over protective. They never leave the child alone. This is also out of sheer love and affection . But in their anxiety , they fail to realise, that they  had slipped into the category of Chopper moms.

Chopper moms ……who are they? I can hear you asking.

They are like choppers , always flying above their son or daughter, hovering over them , seeing what they do, be it school or home. Ofcourse…. only to take care of them and give them all the timely help .  And also to help their sons in taking decisions.

. Till their teens these mothers can hover over them and take care .

After that … what? The child entering into adulthood,  will be left all alone suddenly, to fend for themselves. Will it work for them then.? They might feel absolutely insecure.

We in our teens did not face this ” lost in the forest ” syndrome. Because many of us  were brought up in a joint family and also our parents had more than one  child to take care of.. They neither had the time nor  a fat purse to pamper the children. That does not mean they cared less for their children. I would say that their bringing up had very little flaws or even no flaws at all. You would agree with me if I say that we are living examples of their flawless grooming..

But now….  thanks to the nuclear family system, which had made every child as descendants from moon.Their wishes turn into reality in the wink of an eyelid. Thanks to the economy which had made it possible. The result is , most children are not exposed  to  stark realities, failures and disappointments even in play .

“So you ask me to just throw away my son without protecting him? ” I can visualise some  mothers going red with anger.

I can only say,” Mom!You have misunderstood me . As mothers we need to take care of our child. At the same time, we should also take care that we don’t transform ourselves into chopper moms.”

But, all the same , If you prefer to be a chopper, be so.

But as a chopper you might come across eagles and their homes in tall trees. Don’t  forget to step into their homes.  Step in and meet  the mom of the home.

There is a lot to learn from them. Eagles build nests on tall trees and lay eggs there. The nests, eagle builds is very soft .After hatching, like every other mother, eagle mom also  takes care of her babies.  She feeds them and  cares for them, be it  rain or shine.
But all this care…. for how long do you think?

When the eaglets are ready to fly eagle mom starts her teaching process. First she removes all the soft twigs from the nest and makes the nest  pricky. This is the first step where in mom exposes her baby to the rough side of life.

“Mommy ! Thorns are pricking me. Please make the bed soft. “the eaglet  cries.

“Baby.. If it is pricky , why don’t you go out and fly?”Mom says.

Will the eaglet  listen ? Will he ever leave the security of the cosy home?

No…absolutely not.

But the mom does not stop there.

Slowly, she pushes her baby to the edge of the nest with her wings.

The eaglet  looks out at the vast outside world .

And screams,” Ohooo………Mom…Mom…. Don’t push me outside. The world outside scares me a lot mommy. It is windy too. Please….Please… mommy …. I shall not be naughty anymore. ”  and begs to get back into the nest. The mom without any sympathy pushes the baby again to the edge.

Does she hate her young one? No, She teaches her young one, what he should learn.

Now, the eaglet slips out of the nest , falling from a great height screaming ,” HO…Ho….Iam falling Mom…….my.” The Survival Instinct makes the baby to flatter his wings.

Eaglet tries , but could not.

True. Nothing could be achieved at the first attempt. When the baby is about to fall down, eagle mom flies from somewhere and catches her child . She then takes him back to the nest for rest.

The eaglet  thinks,” Wow! I have got the worlds best mom. She is not going to drive me out of the nest. I can be safe here. My mom will take care of me. She loves me.” And shouts at his mom ,” I love you too mommy.”
And heaves a sigh of relief.

This relief will not last long. Again  eagle mom pushes the eaglet outside the nest. Now again the eaglet, out of fear of dying , opens its wings to flatter and fly. But lo!  After a few flatters, he loses the strength of the wings and begins to fall down. Immediately mom rushes from nowhere and carries the child to safety.

This kind of exercise is given by the mom to the eaglet many times till the baby’s wings gains strength and masters the art of flying.

Soon,  eaglet could be seen screaming in excitement, on  scaling great heights .

He screams,” Thankyou mom! You made me fly! ”

Wow! What an achievement both for the eagle and the eaglet!

Just imagine, if only, the eagle mom thinks that what she had undergone as a child, should not be experienced by her baby too, what could have happened?
The eaglet will have to lie inside the nest and get rotten.

Eagles pose a majestic appearance.  True.

But, how do they gain this majesty?

The majesty of Eagles, lies in their confidence and courage. The eagle mom knows  this when bringing up her child. She knows that there are “No gains without pains.”

What a fore sight!

Now coming back to chopper moms…..

On returning form eagles home, Chopper moms also, would have got an insight. I hear one of them murmuring,”Let me abondon my chopper. My  child should sail smoothly through the rough and tough tides , ( if any )  in later life. Let me prepare him for that.”

That’s it.
Happy Mothers day!

Red roses and gift boxes in the hands of youngsters caught my attention. I said ,” What a strange coincidence! So many people have birthdays on the same day.”

My friend walking beside me gave a hearty laugh and said, ” Don’t you know today is Feb 14th ,Valentine’s Day. ” I then replied,” Oh! Yes. I forgot. Of course some few years back February 14th went like any other day in our country(India). But now, the day is making a great fuss among the youngsters. May be it is one of the marketing techniques or “aping the west” which makes this day an important one.”

My friend immediately said,” I have been your friend for a very long time. I never knew that you had a hate relationship with love.”

” What gave you this impression about me? I love being loved and ofcourse  I love my family .” I retorted back

” But then why are you against Valentine’s day?” my friend asked again.

“I  don’t hate Valentine’s day.  I just said that in our part of the globe ,everyday is a Valentine’s day. Why should we celeberate love on one single day alone?”

“Do you mean to say that lovers should be exchanging gifts and roses on a daily basis.”

“No. Again you had mistaken me. what Iam trying to say is that love should be exchanged between the lovers every moment . When love gets shared , these gifts become superficial”

” But this is a just a way of expressing their love.”

” May be. But in our culture there is no need for a day like this. Everyday is a Valentine’s day for couples.’

But shall we stop this argument here.?

Iam reminded of aTamil Sangam poem which we learned in our college days. What a casual outlook of love by the poet ! He talks about the love between a stag and a doe. How do they express their love?

Read how it goes.

There was a severe drought in a place where the deer couple were living. On a sunny day both of them went in search of green pasture to graze. But drought had already grazed them all. Having travelled a long distance they felt thirsty. But no water in sight.

After some time they came across a small pool of water, but not enough to quench both . Stag wanted his doe love to drink and doe thought the other way. So both of them went to the pool and put in their mouth there.

Time went by. Stag pretended to drink the water, so that doe his lover would quench her  thirst. The poet  then finishes the poem saying, it is but natural that lovers behave like this,

The poem ends here.Is that not a thought provoking poem where in the poet tries to highlight the sacrifice made by lovers.? Does it not tell about our culture where love was intertwined in our lives. Otherwise a poet could not come out with such a love song.

I strongly believe that love is felt and not seen inside the gift boxes or inside a bouquet. That is what I was trying to bring out.

Immediately my friend replied,” Oh! what a loving wife I have got! Let me tell here, that the friend I  was conversing with,  was none other than my loving husband.

Some of you would love to read the poem.

Here it is in my mother tongue Tamil. Read and enjoy.

Another poem also comes to my mind. Let me write about that in my next post. Incidentally that is also a love poem.

Unanswered Prayers –Gifts

prayerSometime or  even manytimes,  in our life  we go through this strange feeling of being neglected by God. Some of our prayers may remain unanswered, even till now.  But all the same, you may also agree with me, if I say that unanswered prayers are blessings of God….. in disguise .

I shall substantiate my view with a small story  which came as a mail forward. The mail forward was in my mother tongue (Tamil).

Here goes the story……

In  south India , there was a temple priest called Sudhakar.  He is incharge of pooja in a temple and did his duties perfectly well and ofcourse, with great devotion. Devotees throng to the temple daily with multitudes of prayers.

Priest Sudhakar, had the habit of talking to God, everyday, as a vent for his  joy or sad  feelings. Normally, he does not get any response from God. Neither did he expect that.

Days rolled by.

One day, as usual, when Sudhakar was talking to God, he casually commented,” Oh Poor God! You seem to be standing in this position, since Iam seeing you. Is it not very tiresome for you to stand like this ?”

To his surprise he had a response that day. The reply came from the God statue,.The voice said , ” Sudhakar, If you are so concerned about my pain ,let us think of interchanging our roles, atleast for a day. As you say it is very boring to be in this posture, for years together. I too need a change. Let me relax by moving up and down the temple. Why don’t we can change our roles? If you agree, let us do that  tomorrow from dawn to dusk.”

Sudhakar, though taken back, agreed to this.

But this role for Sudhakar did not come free. Yes. As you guess it is ” Conditions Apply” . God added,” Look Priest. You should stand just like I do. Come what may .You should never show your expression or respond to my devotees. You should stand with a frozen smile and keep blessing .”

The condition did not seem  a difficult task for Sudhakar.. He agreed. The next day dawned. Sudhakar opened the gates of the temple.

God was waiting for him. He and Sudhakar silently exchanged places. God dressed up like Sudhakar, was going up and down the temple corridor , cleaning the temple, making garlands, cooking prasad etc… Sudhakar, in the role of God statue stood straight, put on an everlasting smile on his face and watching the happenings there.

(From now on let me  call Sudhakar in the role of God as God(S) and the real God as GOD.)

As usual devotees with a variety of prayers started to flow in. Our God(S)  was silently watching all this.

Soon the drama began……

There came a rich business man, with his wish. He bargained with God(S) and dropped in a bundle of currency notes, in the Hundial kept in front of the temple. And he said,” what I dropped in the hundial  is just an advance, God . If my business flourishes, I shall give you more .” ( GOD in in the dress of Sudhakar, laughed to himself thinking “who gives whom?”) After his bargain was over , he left the temple. But, he forgot to take back the cash bag, which he left on the floor of the temple.

God(S), had to stop himself from calling the rich man and ask him to take back his cash bag. The bag contained not only huge amount of cash , but also some gold and diamond jewellery. God(S) felt that his hands are tied.  But the helpless God(S), continued his God act.

Next came a very poor man. He had only a coin to offer and he too closed his eyes and prayed to God, ” God, I have only this coin to offer you. But…… you know, as to how to take care of me and my poverty stricken family.”

With this prayer , he opened his eyes  and immediately the unattended cash bag, caught his attention. He saw it was unattended. He took it and opened it. He saw the bag full of cash and jewellery. He looked around. He saw no one searching for this bag. Looking around, he doubly confirmed,  that no one was looking for the cash bag. He thought, that at last  GOD had answered his prayers. Happily  he took the bag and went away.

Helpless God(S), can do nothing, but to silently watch this also.

After a few minutes there came a ship captain .He prayed for his safe voyage which he was going to start that day. As he was praying, the rich man who lost his cash bag rushed into the temple, with two policemen and said ,” I kept the cash  bag here, but it is not found here now. ”

Immediately, the ship captain, who was standing there, was enquired. He was suspected of having stolen the cash bag. And so he was about to be arrested. Not able to contain himself ,God(S) shouted from inside ” Policeman. No …..Don’t do that. Do not arrest the ship captain. He is innocent . I know who the culprit is.” And told about the poor man who took the cash bag. The richman thanked the God for intervening at the right time, to get back his cash bag.

And there is no need to say that the ship captain was the happiest of all .

Now, God(S) was brimming with pride.. He  said to himself,” I did something even the GOD would not have done. He would have been a silent spectator. But, I did the right thing and saved the ship captain.I answered his prayer. After all I am the God now.  Iam very much satisfied about that.”

The day passed by. It was time for Sudhakar and God to revert back to their original roles.

After switching back roles, the God asked Sudhakar, ” How was your day? ”

Sudhakar proudly replied,”Why do you ask me? You were a witness to everything.  I had done something right isn’t it? You don’t answer everyone’s prayer. But I did. ”

Now the God gave a hearty laugh and said ,” What did I tell you? Did I not ask you to be silent come what may ? Why did you intervene in the drama? ”

Sudhakar now thought,” Instead of applauding me for my act , God seems to find fault with my actions.” And so he said,”Do you mean to say that I should keep quiet when some thing wrong is done in front of my eyes. I saved the ship captain. Was that not right?”

Now the God replied with a thundering laughter. He said,” So you think you saved the ship captain by answering his prayer? Is it? ”

Sudhakar with great confusion looked at the God and asked,” Is there any doubt for you over that?”

God continued. ” Let me explain. What the rich man offered was only a tiny portion of his belongings. Also, all his belongings were not earned by his hard work.. He had cheated somebody to become rich. And  the poor man ,……. he deserves that  cash bag. The poor man will be relieved of poverty and at the same time the rich man’s karma also would have been lessened a little by this charity.”

“See now what you had done by intervening in this matter? ”

Sudhakar then questioned,” That is Ok. But why did you bring the ship captain into the picture. Was he also at fault to get arrested and be behind the bars. ?”

God continued,” Iam coming to that. Ship captain was about to start his voyage. There is going to be a heavy storm on his journey. He will not survive that storm. To save his life, I tried to prevent him from taking this journey, by arresting him. You bungled up the whole thing.”

Sudhakar  became very sad now. With tear filled eyes, he said,” Because of me ship captain is going to die. That makes me sad. Oh! God! Can you please do something and save the captain. And as you know much better than me, why don’t you set right all the things I confused.?”

God patted Sudhakar, smiled  and said,” I shall take care of everything. No worries. ”

And continued,” But always remember that even unanswered prayers are also my blessings.”

“Sometimes  I don’t answer your prayers . True. But that is also, only  to save you. You won’t understand  the  divine secret lying behind unanswered prayers.”

Sudhakar with folded hands thanked God and begged forgiveness.

God blessed Sudhakar and froze himself, back into a statue .

After reading this story, now you would also agree with my post title. It is we, who should take things in the right stride, and get along. God is always by our side, watching things and  intervening at the right moments. If He does not intervene , then that is also in our best interests.

WIth Him, by our side to guide us,  let us transform , challenges–into success stories.

A Tribute To The Rocket Scientist.

Kalaam-quotes_4 When our nation was in turmoil and confusion prevailed among the youth there came a saviour who sowed the seeds of confidence in the young minds.

“If your dreams should come true, first you should be a dreamer ” his quotes  had a great effect  among our youth. He himself must have been a dreamer in youth.  He dreamt of India  achieving  the Super Power status. The day, seeing his dream coming true is not far away.

He himself initiated the “India-super power”project by launching  satellites. He is,  no doubt , fondly called as the  Rocket scientist.

Yes.He also rose to the highest post in public life. But his height is still more in our minds and hearts. This cannot be measured by any scale.

Yesterday night, most of us would have lost our sleep, feeling insecured , with  this  guiding soul departing .

From his life we learnt a great lesson , that even  in public life,  we can still remain uninfected by dirty politics, corruption etc……

Also gave hope that we can do not only governance , but also service assuming   government office.

Many awards conferred on him took pride in adorning his cap.

” Caste , creed, religion, language ” are the words missing in his personal dictionary. Crossing all these barriers, he spread the message of love , to one and all. As a teacher himself, his love for the student fraternity is exemplary.May be, it his love for students and his confidence in them, , made him to breathe his last when he was amongst  them.

We can feel proud that this great man lived amongst us. The air he breathed reverberates ” Dreams Come True.” Let us strive to achieve that.

My respects to the departed soul.

” May his soul rest in peace.”

We Shall Get Back To You

house-rent-real-estate-home-door-advertise-20433931

Most of us would have had the experience of finding a home for rent. You should have your own taste  of the hardships you faced when finding a home to live in.And  we also think that normally there would not be much hardships if it comes to renting out your home.If you are of that view, then most likely you might change your view after reading this post.

It all started when we decided to get settled in Bangalore with our son , as age had started to tell on us.That left with no option, but to rent  out our ancestral home before leaving for Bangalore. Once we  decided that, we immediately got in touch with our friends and relatives  to see  if anybody was interested. Immediately one of my husband’s friends agreed upon. We thought the matter ended there. We need not worry about our ancestral home which stood in the heart of the city.

I told myself that the home will be in safe hands . And with these thoughts running in my mind I started upon my home shifting works. But my peace did not last long. As the friend who said wanted the house , now went back on his words citing various reasons. That left us with the job of  looking for a good tenant.

The first thing we did was to approach a local broker to find a tenant. He readily agreed upon. Immediately in the afternoon he brought one person. The person said he was a builder . He was satisfied and agreed upon our terms and conditions. But we needed time to decide and said we shall call him back

.To this offer my husband said , ” This person will not have a regular income. Will he be able to pay the rent every month? Will he vacate as and when we require the home? ” Why so many confusions? Let us reject this offer we decided. After all our home is in  a place where the homes go for rent , like hot cakes. So we should be  getting  a better tenant.

A day passed by , then a person came and looked around the house . We looked at his face  for a  response. Now It was his turn to say ,” I will get back to you soon. ”

Two or more days passed by without anything turning fruitful .Our time to move to Bangalore was getting closer. So we thought of putting up an advertisement in a local daily , as well as in internet. And so we did.

Now the responses were multifold. People started pouring in on that Saturday. I started to make people get around the home. I started to show them “ This is the verandah, hall, bedroom with attached bath,………….”  At least around 20 or 25 people came to visit the home that day. We were really happy at the response. But of what use? I thought we should have fixed  one by this time. But many promised to get back to us but not one responded. That started to nibble us . Why? What is wrong with our home.?

Right in the heart of the city , vast, spacious well-lit rooms ,  with trees around to give shade and wind….But something is missing. What that could it be? Are we quoting a higher rent?……

The next person came and said the usual answer,” I shall get back yo you .” We stopped him.Sensing he was a genuine tenant I said ,” We can negotiate on the rent” His answer cleared our confusion. He said ” Madam , This is an old-fashioned house. My wife would prefer a modern home . we won’t mind even if it is a flat. “

I said,” This might be an old-fashioned house. But we have all the modern amenities here.”

For this he replied,” Madam, everything is fine with the home. The rent is also ok. But your house plan is not up-to-date. It is an old plan.Like…… now the fashion is to have  an open kitchen….things like that are missing.    Added to all this the home is not Vasthu Compliant.” and he also consoled us saying “Don’t lose heart. There are people who would really wish to live in this type of home.” I had to sympathise myself and called my grandma in heaven,” Grandma , Did you hear him? But don’t be depressed by these remarks.Let all these persons say anything they want. But I love the home you built .”

On that day after repeating the words this is verandah, hall……etc….I had byhearted these words and started to blabber the same in sleep ,  this is verandah, hall ….etc….. in sleep.  My husband had to wake me up and console me “ Dear, Don’t worry . We are sure to get a good tenant. Have a good sleep.”.

Next day around 5.00 am  a phone call woke me up. It was once again by a home seeker( prospective tenant  we thought). But so early ….. It is strange that one would look for a home in this early hours .He asked me the direction to our home and walked into our home exactly  fifteen minutes later. He and his family(?)  rushed in. As a broken gramophone record I started ,” This is  verandah, this is a ………” whereupon that person stopped me. He said,” there is no need to look at the home. It is in a locality where  all would envy . Take this token advance and stretched his hand full of currency notes.”

Though my heart was full of joy on finding a tenant ,somewhere in my brain an alarm bell rang. The same alarm bell must have alerted my husband too. He said,” Mr. X  . Let us first talk about the rent, advance etc……”.

Immediately Mr. x retorted back.” Look I am a  very busy person. I don’t have time to sit and talk. My only condition is I need the house immediately. That is today …….Come on. Take the money.”

Now the alarm bell sound deafened my ears.In chorus, me and my husband said,” Sorry sir. We can understand your emergency. But already yesterday we had promised someone who came to fix the home. He said that he would be coming to give an advance in a few minutes from now on.And also we cannot vacate the house today itself.”

Just to  help us in such a situation,  my cell phone started to ring . I looked into the screen and found Kala calling.( my domestic help). After talking over the phone in a husky tone ,I looked at my husband and said, “ Here he is. He says he is on the way to come and pay the advance.”

Even after that, Mr. X tried to convince us  with enhanced rent. Suspecting a foul play, we somehow managed to get rid of him. Looking at all this my mother started praying” Angalmma,(goddess)Thaye…… Please send one good tenant to our home. I will offer two coconuts .”( A good deal)

Though my husband also had his worry over this issue, he did not lose his sense of humour. He said,” We are going through a process like finding a bridegroom for our daughter. Actually that went off smoothly with no hassles.”

I should say something about our home. Living in the home  we had flourished . May be our ancestors were not rich , but not poor. But then, the coming generations  had more than enough. Every sibling had a professional degree behind their names , cars , …… flew  around the globe, not only officially, but also for  a holiday .

Oh! .But still our home was not Vasthu Compliant.

An old-fashioned too, with so much of natural light and air.

Now my mother said,” Why don’t we call the first person who was ready to take the home for rent.  She added “When compared with others he looked OK.”

“Do you mean the one who said he was a builder? ” I asked and turned towards my husband and said,” yes dear . what do you say ? Shall we call him  and fix?”

My husband though a little confused nodded in affirmative.

Immediately, I scanned the notebook and found his number .Gave a ring to him.

“ Hullo”

“ Yes Madam. Who are you?”

“ Sir I am the owner of the house to which you came last Friday and offered to take for rent. Are you still interested? ”

“ Yes madam. But that was last week. After that I did not hear from you. So I fixed another home and also have given advance.”

“ Oh! We decided to let you the home. But that is ok . We shall look for some other person.”

“ Madam ,Please wait . Since I am interested in living in your home , I think I can reconsider my decision. Anyway me and my friend will come and talk to you in person.”

A little relieved, we went on with our chores. The next day morning the builder along with his friend walked in promptly.

His friend said ,” Let me also look at the home.”

Though a little confused, I allowed his friend to have a look.

His friend walked  up and down the house and touched the wall and said,” really Strong”.

I said ,” We are just renting the home. We are not selling it.”

The builder hushed me up and in a low tone said,” My friend should be satisfied.”

I asked him,” Why he should be satisfied? You are going to take for rent.Right?”

Overhearing our conversation the friend of the builder said,” OK Madam, I shall clarify you now . Only my friend(builder) is  going to live here. You need not have any doubt over this. But the problem is that he is facing a financial crisis, So,I am going to finance him till his situations gets better.”

“What? “ My husband literally shouted.

“ Financier for House Rent! “  I have never heard of.

Now the financier added ,” My friend thinks that if he comes to this home he is sure to become successful. I shall pay the rent for him. He is the tenant but I am the financier for the rent.”

We stood speechless.

what came to my mind was the joke in the Tamil movie “Padayappa “ where in Mr. Rajinikanth looking at Mr. Senthil says, “ He is the bridegroom. But his dress is mine.”

Feel like having a good laugh? Yes we too had a good laugh after sending the builder saying the same sentence” We shall get back to you.”

But then you must be eager to know if we had rented the house. By then one of our relatives wanted the house for a short period, so that it would be easy for their medical treatment. So they are residing there now.

What a great relief! ( For the time being)

My ordeal stands suspended for the time being. Again when I start this tenant seeking venture , I am sure to come across some more interesting experiences. I shall record them too….
